Jeannette Smith grew up in Denver and spent summers in Nederland, where her mother ran the Junior Catholic Daughters Camp for girls. Jeannette rode horses and bicycles with the girls. She met her husband, Mike, when she was twelve and he was fourteen, just before a ten-year drought in Nederland, and she has lived the rest of her life in Nederland.

Don Smith

Don Smith worked for the Boulder Valley School District for many years, beginning in the mid-1950s, first as a physical education teacher and coach for Casey Junior High School, and later as a counselor at Baseline Junior High School and Nederland High School. In this interview he recalls his own days as a student at Nederland High School, and his career as a teacher, coach and counselor.

Jean Walsh

Jean Walsh taught elementary school in Nederland and Boulder for 32 years. After graduating from college, her first elementary school teaching job in Colorado was in Nederland, where she taught for 13 years, beginning in 1969. In Boulder, she taught at Martin Park Elementary School.
