I'm happy to chaperone and show off my country, both the benefits and downside of living below sea level.

Before our trip to the Netherlands, we have had the opportunity to receive an online lecture from Dr. Anya Luscombe, a professor of the University College Roosevelt. This lecture was on combating misinformation, and it was surprising how much there was to it. The majority of the information presented were not things I would have learned through courses at school, and many insights, such as the value of Pre-Bunking instead of Debunking, or learning how to spot misinformation, were particularly interesting.
Lectures such as these have been very interesting before we go to see how they do things over in the Netherlands, and while we’re there I hope to learn more about their sustainability efforts, which seem to differ from those taken in the US. Particularly, I am very interested in the many ways in which plant life and green spaces are being integrated into urban areas throughout the Netherlands. While the sustainability approaches taken by our two countries are very different, they are similar in some ways, such as a shift towards renewable forms of energy, as well as government promotion of sustainable practices.
Overall, I am very excited to learn more about the Netherlands and their efforts towards a sustainable future.
