One Island, Two Soldiers, and the Forgotten Battle of World War II

By Mark Obmascik

Denver’s own Obmascik takes us back to The Battle of Attu in the Aleutian Islands. A Japanese medic’s diary is found by a U.S. coal miner soldier, and is later translated and distributed among US soldiers. It shows the common humanity on both sides of the battle, but it also ignites fierce controversy that is still debated today. Check this book out from NCL
